"Maximus" (2007) - is the 7th musical album of Igor Zavadsky which consists of two disks. Among all albums, this one has the longest playing time, which is reflected in its title. “Maximus” means “the maximum of music”. In general, the word
“maximum” is one of the key ones in Igor Zavadsky's creative activity. He is a maximalist in all respects and aims to achieve maximum quality, sincerity, attractiveness, and exclusivity in everything.
“Maximus”, just as the previous three albums, was recorded during Igor Zavadsky’s concerts. Only two pieces were completely recorded in a studio with Andriy Ostapenko, his permanent arranger: “Amur Waves” and “Rio-Rita”. They were performed by Igor Zavadsky on the “Scandalli”
button accordion with a specific variety sound color, which the performer acquired late in 2007. In addition to these compositions, there are 11 pieces on the first CD performed by him solo and 2 duets: with harpsichord and saxophone. Also, for the first time on his CDs, Igor Zavadsky’s button
accordion is accompanied by a stringed trio, stringed quintet and harpsichord, as well as with a boys’ choir of the P.I.Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine (art director - Alla Sheyko). Apart from 6 new versions of the earlier recorded pieces, 15 compositions are premieres. These include
Igor Zavadsky’s classic music transcriptions for button accordion, his arrangements of melodies from famous films, and popular retro music. The second CD features dances of the world’s peoples, contemporary and jazz music performed by the masters from Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia, and Italy
(6 performers - button accordion, 5 - piano accordion, 1 - saxophone, 1 - a duet of saxophone with button accordion, 1 - “Uzory” folk music ensemble).
All recordings of the “Maximus” album were made at Igor Zavadsky’s concerts in the Actor’s House in Kyiv during 2007.
